The Beginning is Not a Loud Thing

I’ve been draining myself for months thinking I needed a perfect first post – you know – polished, certain, finished.

But in my experience, beginnings are rarely like that.

Most of the time the real beginnings arrive quietly. A chair pulled closer to a desk, a sentence written before you know where it’s going. The small stubborn decision to stay with your own voice long enough to hear what it wants to say.

This space isn’t meant to be polished, certain or finished. It’s meant to be honest.

So this is not a grand opening. It’s a door left unlocked. I want this space to have the ability to be soft and sharp because life is exactly that. Soft and sharp.

I’m learning how to come home to a body that learned too early what survival was and if you’re here reading this, you’re at the exact beginning with me. There’s something comforting about that – like standing in a room before the furniture arrives, when everything is still possible.

Thank you for being here. Let’s see where this grows.
